The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced progress in the ongoing process of obtaining agréments — formal acceptance — for Nigeria’s newly appointed ambassadors-designate.
According to the ministry, approvals have already been received from ten countries. These include the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Ireland, Qatar, the Republic of Benin, Ethiopia and Djibouti, Senegal, and Sierra Leone.

Other countries are yet to respond, as the process continues.
The update was disclosed in a statement on Monday by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, who noted that efforts are ongoing to secure the remaining approvals.
He also stated that the date for the ambassadors’ induction ceremony will be announced once it is finalised and confirmed by the Presidency.
