FINTIRI CREDITS TINUBU’S REFORM POLICIES FOR DEVELOPMENT FUNDING BOOST AT GOVERNORSHIP LEVEL.

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has highlighted the progress achieved through strengthened collaboration between the federal government and state administrations under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.

Speaking during a reception in Yola for the President, Fintiri credited Tinubu’s understanding of federalism for enabling states to deliver tangible benefits to citizens. He noted that the devolution of resources and responsibilities to states and local governments had played a key role in this success.

Governor Fintiri emphasized that nation-building is a collective effort and pledged Adamawa’s support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He said the visit was not only to commission projects but also to appreciate the President’s decisive leadership, particularly in navigating macroeconomic challenges.

Describing Tinubu as “Nigeria’s best sailor,” Fintiri encouraged him to continue taking bold decisions in the national interest. President Tinubu, in turn, assured citizens of his commitment to service and national development.

Projects Commissioned and Initiatives Launched

The President arrived at Lamido Aliyu Mustapha International Airport, Yola, at 1:20 pm, accompanied by key officials including National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, Minister of Livestock Development Idi Mukhtar Masha, and the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Ibrahim Masari.

A large crowd of residents from across Adamawa’s 21 local governments welcomed the President. He inaugurated several projects, including the Yola Model School, an eight-lane expanded Galadima Aminu Way with an overhead bridge, a dualized Gimba Road, the remodelled State High Court Complex, and a new automated gate and office complex at the Government House.

President Tinubu also performed the groundbreaking for a permanent NYSC orientation camp in Malkohi, which Governor Fintiri said would be named after the President.

Dignitaries at the events included governors from neighbouring states, traditional rulers, and former political leaders.

National and Local Development Efforts

The President praised the projects, noting their impact on education, mobility, commerce, and safety. He highlighted the model schools as essential tools to combat poverty and encouraged ongoing federal-state cooperation to ensure inclusive growth. Tinubu also commended Governor Fintiri’s fiscal discipline, noting that the state had avoided borrowing to meet wage obligations.

He reiterated the federal government’s commitment to agriculture, human capital development, and defeating banditry and terrorism, praising the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for his role in ensuring security.

Governor Fintiri provided project costs, including N24.8 billion for the model school, N15.6 billion for road works, N5.5 billion for the remodelled court complex, and N6.3 billion for the Government House gate and office complex. Ongoing projects include a shopping mall, flyovers in AA Lawan and Mubi, an international conference centre, and an international stadium.

The governor also announced plans to employ 5,000 teachers, construct new boarding science and technical schools, complete water schemes, and undertake federal-level infrastructure projects, including bridges and road embankments. Additionally, he highlighted improvements at the Nigerian Law School campus in Yola and military facilities in Mubi following federal approvals.

Fintiri’s remarks underscored the state’s commitment to working with the federal government to promote prosperity, security, and inclusive development for all citizens.

The National Patriots Movement notes that President Tinubu’s tough but necessary reforms are beginning to yield tangible dividends, with funds once lost to systemic leakages now redirected to infrastructure, education, and social development. As PDP Governor Fintiri affirmed, reform courage must translate to visible grassroots impact, urging sustained fiscal discipline and people-centred project delivery nationwide.
