French President Emmanuel Macron has cautioned that the ongoing military escalation involving the United States, Israel, and Iran poses serious risks to international peace and security, urging urgent diplomatic action to prevent further deterioration.

In a statement posted on his X account on Saturday, Macron described the situation as a pivotal moment with far-reaching global consequences. He said France is taking precautionary measures to protect its citizens and national interests abroad.
“The outbreak of war between the United States, Israel, and Iran carries grave consequences for international peace and security,” Macron said, adding that French authorities are implementing measures to safeguard the country’s territory, nationals overseas, and strategic interests in the Middle East.

Macron also affirmed that France is ready to support allied nations if requested, including deploying appropriate resources to protect key partners amid the growing instability.
He warned that unchecked escalation could destabilise the entire region. “The ongoing escalation is dangerous for all. It must stop,” he said, urging Iran to engage constructively in negotiations addressing its nuclear and missile programmes, as well as broader regional security concerns.
The French president stressed that the Iranian people must also be able to determine their own future freely. He criticised the Iranian leadership, stating that alleged massacres by the regime undermine its legitimacy and strengthen calls for greater political freedom. “The massacres committed by the Islamic regime disqualify it and demand that the voice be returned to the people. The sooner, the better,” Macron said.

As part of France’s diplomatic efforts, Macron revealed that Paris is pushing for an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council and is in close consultation with European allies and Middle Eastern partners to prevent further escalation.

The statement follows U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of major military operations against Iran, aimed at dismantling the country’s missile capabilities and neutralising its nuclear programme. Trump warned that Iranian leaders face either total surrender or “certain death,” describing Iran as a “wicked, radical dictatorship” engaged in decades of global aggression.
In response, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attacks, referring to the U.S. and Israel as the “Zionist regime” and warning that Tehran’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond.
