The Presidency has released a new list of Nigerians granted clemency and pardon by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, featuring 34 individuals in total.
According to the statement, 15 persons received presidential pardons, 4 death sentences were commuted to life imprisonment, while 15 others were granted clemency under the President’s constitutional powers of mercy.

The fresh list comes amid the federal government’s ongoing efforts to decongest correctional facilities and extend mercy to deserving inmates.
This development follows recent reports that some previously listed individuals, including Maryam Sanda, were removed from the original pardon list after a review by the Presidential Advisory Committee on Prerogative of Mercy.
