The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has reported that 11 people were killed and 12 others injured in a single-vehicle accident along the Ringim-Sankara-Beguwa road in Ringim Local Government Area, Jigawa State.
The Ag. Commander of the FRSC Ringim Unit, Mr. Ado Adamu, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday.

According to Adamu, the crash involved a Volkswagen car carrying 23 passengers and was caused by a tyre blowout combined with excessive speeding.
He stated that the passengers included seven males and 16 females. Eleven people – five men and six women – lost their lives, while 12 others, seven men and five women, sustained injuries of varying severity.
The bodies of the deceased and the injured were taken to Ringim General Hospital for treatment and further management.

Adamu noted that the FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Mr. Umar Matazu, extended condolences to the families of those who died and prayed for the recovery of the injured victims.
The victims were reportedly traveling from Bauchi State to Kankia Local Government Area in Katsina State at the time of the accident.
