The semi-final line-up for the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 has been finalized following the conclusion of the quarter-finals.
The last four teams standing are Egypt, Nigeria, hosts Morocco, and Senegal, all advancing after a series of closely contested matches that wrapped up on Saturday night.
In the semi-finals, hosts Morocco will face Nigeria, while Senegal will take on Egypt on Wednesday.
Egypt secured their spot with a dramatic 3–2 victory over defending champions Côte d’Ivoire, ending the Elephants’ title defence and setting up a semi-final showdown with Senegal.
Senegal advanced earlier with a narrow 1–0 win against Mali in a tense West African derby, thanks to a first-half goal from Iliman Ndiaye, as the Teranga Lions held on to preserve their lead.
Morocco, meanwhile, continued their impressive run with a 2–0 win over Cameroon in Rabat, with goals from Brahim Díaz and Ismaël Saibari highlighting the Atlas Lions’ attacking prowess and defensive stability.
Nigeria completed the semi-final line-up after a 2–0 victory over Algeria in Marrakech. Victor Osimhen scored first, with Akor Adams sealing the win, setting up a highly anticipated clash with the hosts.
The quarter-finals demonstrated how experience, composure, and clinical finishing often make the difference in high-stakes matches.
The semi-finals will take place on Wednesday, January 14, with the final scheduled for January 18 in Rabat.
