Full List: Major Road Projects Approved By Federal Executive Council

President Bola Tinubu has approved the commencement of several major road projects across Nigeria following the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Thursday in Abuja.

According to a statement by Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, the approved projects span multiple regions and aim to improve connectivity, safety, and economic growth.

Key projects include the rehabilitation of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway (Phase II) to fix failed portions and complete ramps and underpasses, and the Mushin–NNPC–Apapa–Oshodi Expressway, whose dualisation cost was revised due to inflation.

Others are the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway (Section III) covering 162.97 km, Ilorin–Omu Aran–Egba Road (Phase I of 216 km), and the redesigned East–West Road to enhance traffic flow with stronger pavement and new bridges.

Additional approvals include the Ota–Idi-Iroko Road (Ogun State) upgraded to rigid concrete pavement, the Jos–Turunku–Maraban–Jama’a Road (Kaduna State), and the Ijebu–Ibu Ete–Egba–Owena Road linking Ogun and Ondo States.

The presidency said the projects reflect Tinubu’s commitment to nationwide infrastructure renewal and regional development.Headline news
