A strong lineup of professional golfers from across West and Central Africa is expected to compete, including participants from Ghana, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Gabon, and Nigeria. Competitors will be aiming for top finishes that could secure them qualification into the main Sunshine Tour, opening doors to higher-level professional golf opportunities.

According to the Golf Manager at Lakowe Lakes Golf Club, Femi Olagbenro, the tournament represents a major milestone for the growth of professional golf in the region, describing it as a platform that will expand opportunities for emerging players across West Africa.

He also noted that the club plans to make the Sunshine Developmental Tour Qualifying School a permanent feature in its calendar, alongside other initiatives aimed at improving the standard and visibility of golf in the region.

As preparations conclude, attention now shifts to Lakowe Lakes Golf Club as the competition begins, marking a new chapter for professional golf development in West Africa.
