The Gombe State Government has distributed 16 new vehicles to judicial officers as part of efforts to improve effectiveness within the state’s justice system. The vehicles include two 2025 Toyota SUVs and 14 GAC SUVs, allocated to the Chief Judge, High Court judges, the Grand Khadi, and Khadis of the Sharia Court of Appeal.

The presentation was made on behalf of the governor by the deputy governor, Manassah Jatau, who said the gesture reflects the administration’s commitment to supporting the judiciary and ensuring that officers have the necessary tools to perform their duties. He urged the recipients to use the vehicles responsibly and strictly for official purposes.

The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Zubairu Umar, commended the state government for fulfilling its promises to the judiciary, highlighting other recent interventions such as the construction of a modern High Court complex.

The Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Muhammad Magaji, disclosed that the vehicles were purchased at a cost exceeding N2 billion. He explained that the initiative was aimed at reinforcing judicial autonomy and improving service delivery, noting that the last major purchase of vehicles for the judiciary occurred ten years ago.

Senior judicial representatives, including the Chief Registrar of the High Court, Bello Sherif; the Chief Registrar of the Sharia Court of Appeal, Ibrahim Jibrin; and the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association in Gombe, Alhassan Mu’azu, praised the government for its continued support and investment in the justice sector.
