Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for situating a training depot in the state, describing the move as a major boost to national security and military capacity. The governor gave the commendation while receiving the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu (NAM), at the Government House in Osogbo.

The visit by the Army chief was part of activities leading to the Passing Out Parade of the first batch of recruits trained at the Nigerian Army Depot in Osun State. The ceremony, slated for Saturday, December 20, 2025, marks the formal graduation of the pioneer trainees and underscores the federal government’s renewed focus on strengthening internal security following a presidential directive on national security emergency.

Governor Adeleke noted that the establishment of the depot not only enhances military preparedness but also positions Osun as a strategic contributor to the nation’s defence and security framework.
