The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has donated brand-new Honda Accord vehicles to the 17 local government chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The vehicles were officially handed over on Monday at the party’s state secretariat in Damaturu.

Representing the governor at the event, the Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, explained that the donation was aimed at strengthening party activities and improving grassroots mobilisation across the 17 local government areas of the state.
Gubana urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the vehicles and remain committed to promoting unity within the party.
“The vehicles are meant to support your activities and help you mobilise support for the party’s policies and programmes in your respective local governments,” he said.

He also cautioned the chairmen against actions that could create division within the party, stressing the need for loyalty and vigilance against acts of political betrayal.
According to him, local government party leaders must strictly adhere to APC guidelines and maintain strong collaboration with key stakeholders in the state.

Speaking at the event, the APC state chairman, Muhammad Gadaka, expressed appreciation to the governor for the gesture and encouraged the beneficiaries to repay the support through dedication and commitment to the party.
“We are grateful to the governor for this generous gesture. The beneficiaries must reciprocate by remaining committed to the success of the party,” he said.
In addition to the vehicles, the governor also donated Sallah clothes and wrappers to 37 members of the state party executive.
Meanwhile, the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Malam Wali, further supported the chairmen with a ₦2 million donation to help cover fuel expenses for the vehicles.
