President Bola Tinubu has strongly denounced the recent gunmen attacks in Plateau and Kaduna states, describing the killings and abductions as brutal and completely unacceptable.

The incidents took place in Angwan Rukuba in Jos and Kahir village in Kagarko Local Government Area, where several lives were lost and others, including wedding guests, were kidnapped.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President assured citizens that those behind the attacks would be identified and prosecuted.

Tinubu condemned the nature of the assaults, noting that targeting vulnerable individuals at night reflects cowardice and a deliberate attempt to incite further violence and retaliation.
He instructed security agencies to intensify operations aimed at apprehending the perpetrators, while also urging caution against the spread of misinformation that could worsen tensions. The President further advised the media to avoid framing the attacks as religiously driven.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to security, Tinubu called for more proactive intelligence gathering to prevent future incidents and demanded the immediate rescue of those abducted in Kahir village.
He also acknowledged the efforts of Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for their roles in managing the situation and supporting rescue efforts.

The President extended his condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured a quick recovery, while emphasizing ongoing plans to equip security forces with advanced tools to combat crime more effectively.
