As a distinguished Ijaw leader, elder statesman, and the guiding force behind the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Clark dedicated his life to the pursuit of justice, equity, and development for the Niger Delta region.
Born on May 25, 1927, in Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, Chief Clark’s journey was one of unwavering commitment to education, public service, and advocacy. He began his career as an educator before transitioning into public service, where he held various significant positions, including Federal Commissioner for Information. His leadership extended to founding Edwin Clark University, a testament to his dedication to education and empowerment.
As the leader of PANDEF, Chief Clark championed the rights and development of the Niger Delta, striving for a harmonious and prosperous region within a united Nigeria. His vision was rooted in addressing the socio-economic challenges of the area, promoting dialogue, and ensuring that the voices of the Niger Delta people were heard on national platforms.
