Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has officially endorsed George Moghalu as the party’s flagbearer for the upcoming Anambra State governorship election.
Obi, however, emphasized that the final decision rests with the people of Anambra, urging voters to make a wise choice at the polls.

In a statement signed by the Obidient Movement’s National Coordinator, Tanko Yunusa, Obi stated:
> “A man is known by his words and actions; that is called integrity. I will support my party’s candidate, George Moghalu, because my conscience says so. But ultimately, the decision of who becomes the next governor lies with Ndi Anambra.”

Obi was also seen walking through the streets of Anambra in solidarity with Moghalu despite the rain and poor road conditions, drawing a large crowd of supporters from the Obidient Movement.
Calling on voters to exercise their civic rights, Obi added:
“It is your democratic duty to choose your next governor. Vote wisely. A New Nigeria is POssible.”

The Anambra governorship election is scheduled for November 8, 2025, with over 2.8 million registered voters expected to participate.
