ICPC REPORTEDLY UNCOVERS SEVERAL HOUSES LINKED TO EL-RUFAI IN EGYPT (FULL LIST)

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly traced several high-value real estate assets in Egypt linked to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, sources tell Naija News.

The assets—comprising three villas and six apartments—are believed to be central to the ICPC’s ongoing investigation into El-Rufai’s activities while in office. All properties are located in prominent areas of Cairo, including New Cairo and Cairo Festival City.

According to checks by TheCable, villas in Arabilla Estate and Banafsik Estate in New Cairo are valued between $1 million and $1.3 million, while apartments in Cairo Festival City are estimated at around $500,000 each.

Sources familiar with the investigation revealed that the properties were purchased between 2021 and 2023, during El-Rufai’s tenure as governor. Among the assets are:

A villa in Arabilla Estate, 5th Settlement, Cairo

A villa in Banafsik Estate, 1st Settlement, New Cairo

A villa in Oriana II, New Cairo (near the American University)

Four apartments in Cairo Festival City

Two apartments in Oriana Estate, New Cairo

The ICPC is investigating El-Rufai for alleged financial misappropriations while serving as governor of Kaduna State between 2015 and 2023. He has been in ICPC custody since February 18, 2026.

Prior to his detention, El-Rufai was also questioned by the Department of State Services (DSS) regarding his claim that the phone of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, had been tapped.
