In his remarks, the IGP welcomed the NSC team and recognized the Council’s pivotal role in enhancing Nigeria’s economic landscape through effective regulation of port operations and trade facilitation. He assured the delegation of the Police Force’s sustained support in maintaining security in port environments and ensuring seamless enforcement of relevant regulations.

“The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to building impactful partnerships with key stakeholders across the public and private sectors. Through strategic collaborations like this, we can further strengthen national security, institutional efficiency, and promote initiatives aligned with our mission to ensure public safety and drive economic development,” IGP Egbetokun stated.

He also emphasized the Force’s readiness to work more closely with the Council’s Joint Task Teams to accomplish shared goals and enforce national policies effectively.

The visit was attended by members of the Force Management Team and other senior police officers.

In his address, Dr. Akutah expressed gratitude to the IGP for the warm reception and lauded the long-standing cooperation between the Shippers’ Council and the Police. He acknowledged the Police Force’s vital role in supporting the Council’s regulatory functions, especially in implementing the Nigerian Port Process Manual.
