The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has been honoured with the traditional title of “Kaeh-rit,” meaning “the good seed of Ampang East,” in Plateau State.
The ceremony took place on Saturday in Kanke Local Government Area. Speaking after the event, Yilwatda said he continues to draw political lessons from President Bola Tinubu, whom he described as “one of the best politicians you can learn from.”

“I am learning from the best leader, Asiwaju Tinubu. Since he adopted me as his son, I have gained so much insight from him. If I succeed, it is because I am learning from the very best politician Nigeria has produced. I aim to achieve similar excellence,” Yilwatda stated.
In a move to support local agriculture, he also donated ₦10 million, seedlings, and other farming inputs to farmers in Kanke LGA, aligning with President Tinubu’s vision to boost food production and alleviate poverty.

Yilwatda expressed optimism about Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s recent defection to the APC, noting that Plateau State would benefit from having both government and party structures under a unified platform.
He highlighted the party’s inclusive membership policy, stressing that all members enjoy equal rights, regardless of when they joined.

“In APC, everyone has equal standing. We do not differentiate between longtime members and newcomers. As the government aligns with its supporters, we create a single family working for the benefit of Plateau. From national budgets to local government structures, all systems will be aligned to serve the people,” he explained.
Our correspondent reports that the title conferred in Kanke LGA marks Yilwatda’s second traditional honour in less than two weeks. Previously, the Tiv Nation in Benue State recognised his humanitarian contributions with a similar distinction.
