Ungogo Bye-Elections: INEC Ready, Security Agencies on Alert, as Zango Calls for Peace, APC Support in Kano Central
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reaffirmed its preparedness for the forthcoming bye-elections in Kano State, particularly in Ungogo, assuring residents of a credible and orderly exercise.

INEC officials confirmed that sensitive materials have been secured and deployed, while ad-hoc staff have completed mandatory training.
The commission emphasized strict adherence to electoral guidelines and transparency throughout the process.
Security agencies also announced coordinated deployments across strategic locations.

The Police, Civil Defence, and other agencies pledged to maintain law and order, warning against any attempt to disrupt the electoral process.
Residents and political actors were urged to remain law-abiding and avoid inflammatory conduct.

Ungogo falls within the Kano Central Senatorial District, making the exercise politically significant within Kano’s metropolitan bloc.
Meanwhile, APC Senatorial Aspirant for Kano Central, Dr. M. M. Zango, has called on candidates, party supporters, and voters to conduct themselves peacefully and in an orderly manner during the bye-election.
In his message, Dr. Zango urged constituents to see the exercise as a civic responsibility and an opportunity to strengthen democracy.

“Elections should reflect our maturity as a people. I urge all candidates and supporters to remain peaceful, respect the rule of law, and allow voters to freely exercise their rights.
I wish everyone the best of luck and encourage our people to vote APC for sustained development and stronger representation for Kano Central.”
Observers note that the tone of restraint and issue-based engagement will be crucial in ensuring a smooth and credible electoral outcome.
