In the early hours of Tuesday, suspected terrorists attacked Madagali, the hometown of Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, abducting six members of a family.
The Adamawa State Police confirmed the incident in a statement issued by the Police Command spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje. He stated that a joint rescue operation involving the police and military is underway to locate and safely recover the abducted family members.

According to the statement:
“The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed an attack on Gare Village, Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area, this morning by suspected terrorists, resulting in the abduction of six family members and the rustling of livestock.
“Upon receiving the report, the Command immediately intensified its collaboration with the military, deploying additional personnel and operational assets in a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, troops from the 144 Battalion, and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) to the affected area and neighboring communities.”

The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, has ordered sustained search-and-rescue efforts, reinforced patrols, and heightened security across Madagali and other border communities to ensure the safe return of the victims and prevent further attacks.
Nguroje added, “The Command, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, remains fully committed to protecting lives and property throughout the state. Further updates will be provided as the operation progresses.”

Governor Fintiri began a statewide tour of Adamawa’s 21 local government areas on Tuesday to assess security and other pressing issues affecting residents.
Madagali has recently been the target of violent attacks, including an incident in Hong Local Government where 12 people were killed and homes destroyed. Earlier this year, clashes between Bachaman and Chobo communities in Lamurde Local Government claimed over 20 lives.
