INSECURITY WAR BORNO: ARMY KILLS BOKO HARAM DEPUTY LEADER IN SAMBISA FOREST.

The Nigerian military has achieved a major operational success with the elimination of a high-ranking Boko Haram commander during ongoing clearance operations in the North-East.

Sources within the armed forces told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the deceased insurgent, Abu Khalid, served as the second-in-command of the terrorist group operating in the Sambisa Forest.

Abu Khalid was a key figure in Boko Haram’s leadership, responsible for coordinating attacks, managing logistics, and directing fighter movements across the region. Military officials described his death as a significant setback to the group’s operations in the notorious forest enclave.

The Nigerian military reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the counter-terrorism campaign until all insurgents are neutralised. Authorities also called on remaining militants to surrender and embrace peace.
