Insecurity: Why Yorubas Continue To Be Ahead In Nigeria — Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has credited the Yoruba tribe’s leadership and foresight for the Southwest’s relative peace and development in Nigeria. Writing on X, Omokri praised the outcome of Monday’s Southwest Governors’ meeting in Ibadan, where officials set aside political differences to address insecurity and fund preventive measures.ADS 5

“Of all the regions, the Southwest is least affected by banditry, kidnappings, or school abductions,” Omokri noted. “Yet, its governors still met to adopt a coordinated, action-driven strategy to proactively fight insecurity.”‎

He argued that the region’s economic growth, contribution to Nigeria’s GDP, and social stability are rooted not in Lagos ports but in visionary leadership. Omokri emphasized that the governors’ protectiveness, strategic planning, and focus on citizen welfare have made the Southwest a model for other regions to emulate.

“The Lukumi Yoruba lead Nigeria not because of resources, but because of leadership, foresight, and sacrifice,” he wrote, highlighting how strong governance underpins the region’s development and safety.Headline news
