A girls’ elementary school in Minab, located in southern Iran’s Hormozgan province, was struck in a military attack, resulting in the deaths of 108 people. Dozens more were injured as workers continue to clear debris from the Shajareh Tayyebeh school.

The attack is part of a larger wave of joint US-Israeli military operations across Iran that have heightened regional tensions. Iranian officials condemned the strike, with the Foreign Minister describing it as the killing of innocent children and asserting that such actions will not go unanswered. The Foreign Ministry also called on the United Nations Security Council to take action against what it called a “blatant crime.”

Reports indicate that another school east of Tehran was also hit, killing at least two students. The attacks have raised concerns over civilian casualties and the targeting of non-military sites, challenging US and Israeli claims that their operations focus solely on military objectives.

Iranian authorities and observers warn that these strikes may constitute violations of international law and further inflame hostilities in the region, echoing the high civilian toll seen during a similar 12-day conflict in June 2025.
