ISWAP Terrorists, Bandits Killed As NAF Raids Hideouts In Borno, Others

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the elimination of several members of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and armed bandits during a series of coordinated airstrikes across Borno, Kwara, Katsina, and other parts of the northwest.

According to the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the precision strikes carried out on November 9 formed part of intensified operations under Operation HADIN KAI and Operation FANSAN YAMMA. The missions, he said, were aimed at dismantling terrorist and criminal networks across the northern region.

In Borno State, air interdiction missions hit ISWAP strongholds in the Northern Tumbuns, guided by real-time intelligence and surveillance. Precision strikes southeast of Shuwaram and Mallam Fatori destroyed insurgent hideouts, logistics depots, and weapons storage sites, killing multiple terrorists and disrupting their operations around the Lake Chad Basin.

Simultaneous missions were also executed in Kwara State, targeting bandit enclaves in Garin Dandi and Chigogo. The airstrikes, conducted with high accuracy, inflicted significant casualties and caused panic among the armed groups.

In Katsina State, NAF aircraft under Operation FANSAN YAMMA struck Zango Hill in Kankara Local Government Area, a known hideout of a terrorist leader and his fighters. Multiple attack runs destroyed key logistics points and neutralised several insurgents.

The Air Force also conducted armed reconnaissance missions across Zamfara, Kebbi, and Kaduna States, monitoring known terrorist routes such as the Birnin Gwari–Funtua corridor. During one mission, aircrews engaged and neutralised terrorists attempting to flee near Wam Hill.

NAF said the success of these coordinated operations reflects its renewed tempo under the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, who recently ordered commanders to intensify precision strikes nationwide.

Each mission, according to the Air Force, reinforces its commitment to intelligence-driven airpower aimed at protecting lives and property while maintaining national security.

The latest raids come as President Bola Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to intensify the fight against terrorism and criminality across the country, pledging unity and resilience in confronting national security challenges.
