#Japan Air Force Training Jet Crashes After Vanishing From Radar

A Japanese Air Self-Defense Force training aircraft crashed on Wednesday shortly after takeoff during a routine flight in central Japan, according to government officials.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshimasa Hayashi confirmed that the T-4 jet, operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, departed from Komaki Air Base before disappearing from radar screens.

While specific details remain scarce, Japan’s national broadcaster NHK reported that the aircraft, believed to have had two crew members on board, went off radar while flying over Inuyama city. Eyewitnesses reported what appeared to be a plane crashing into a nearby pond.

Air Self-Defense Force officials acknowledged the reports but said investigations were ongoing and no official confirmation could yet be given.

Authorities have yet to release information on possible casualties or the condition of the crew. Emergency response teams have been dispatched to the suspected crash site.

This is a developing story. More updates will follow as information becomes available.
