An Air Peace aircraft operating Flight P47190 from Lagos to Port Harcourt experienced a runway excursion while landing at the Port Harcourt International Airport on the morning of Sunday, July 13, 2025.
A runway excursion refers to an incident where an aircraft veers off or overshoots the runway during landing or takeoff. According to the airline’s spokesperson, Mr. Osifo-whiskey Efe, the aircraft slightly veered off the runway but sustained no damage.
“All passengers disembarked safely and calmly without any injury,” Efe confirmed in a statement. He also emphasized the airline’s ongoing commitment to safety, stating, “We reassure the flying public of our unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in all our operations.”
This incident comes nearly seven months after a similar event involving Allied Air. On December 11, 2024, a Boeing 737-400 cargo aircraft (5N-JRT), operating flight AJK206 from Lagos to Abuja, veered off the right side of Runway 22 at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, and came to a halt on the grass verge.
