JUST IN: FG OPENS PORTAL FOR RECRUITMENT OF 50,000 POLICE CONSTABLES

PSC, NPF Launch Recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables Following Presidential Directive

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has officially announced the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables, in line with the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement, Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, said the recruitment drive is aimed at strengthening community policing, improving internal security, and expanding the manpower of the Nigeria Police Force.

Eligible applicants for General Duty must possess GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent qualifications, with at least five credits including English Language and Mathematics obtained in no more than two sittings.

For Specialist Cadre positions, candidates must hold GCE/SSCE/NECO or equivalent with at least four credits including English and Mathematics, plus a minimum of three years’ relevant experience and trade test certification in their field.

Additional requirements include:

  • Nigerian citizenship by birth

  • Age limits: 18–25 years (General Duty), 18–28 years (Specialists)

  • Medical, physical, and psychological fitness

  • Height requirements for General Duty: minimum 1.67m (male), 1.64m (female)

The PSC stated that the online recruitment portal will be active from Monday, 15 December 2025, to Sunday, 25 January 2026.
