Former Anambra State governor and senator, Chris Ngige, made an unexpected visit to the APC caucus meeting on Thursday, just hours after being released from Kuje Correctional Centre.
Ngige arrived at the State Housea Conference Centre shortly after the President had taken his seat. Security officials initially stopped him, but he was later allowed to join the session. His presence was met with cheers from some of the presidential aides in attendance.

Ngige, who previously served as Minister of Labour and Employment, had been in Kuje prison over corruption allegations filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He was released on bail earlier in the day after fulfilling the court’s requirements.

The charges against him relate to allegedly granting favorable treatment to associates in awarding contracts between 2015 and 2023, as well as allegedly receiving expensive gifts through affiliated organizations while in office.
Do you think Ngige attended the caucus simply as a party member, or was he there to influence his legal case? Share your thoughts in the comments.
