Kalu Hails Speaker Abbas at 60, Describes Him as a Nation-Builder

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has congratulated Speaker Tajudeen Abbas on his 60th birthday, praising him as a dedicated democrat and exemplary leader. In a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu, Kalu lauded Abbas for his selfless service and commitment to Nigeria’s democracy and good governance.

Kalu, representing Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State, described Abbas as a nation-builder whose leadership has fostered unity and progress in the 10th National Assembly since its inauguration in June 2023. “The Speaker has consistently shown empathy, selflessness, and a commitment to effective representation,” the statement read, highlighting Abbas’ role in maintaining a peaceful and progressive legislative environment.

“On behalf of my family and the people of Bende Federal Constituency, I celebrate my boss, big brother, and friend, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, on this milestone,” Kalu said. “Your inclusive leadership and dedication to uniting the nation are commendable. I am grateful for your trust in me and the support of our colleagues. I wish you many happy returns and greater years ahead.”

Abbas, who began his legislative career in 2011 representing Zaria Federal Constituency, hails from the royal family of the Zazzau Emirate in Kaduna State, where he holds the position of 17th in line and 6th among the emirate’s kingmakers.
