Engr. Ahmad Ishaq, a newly appointed Special Adviser to Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf on Works, has tragically passed away just 48 hours after his swearing-in.
The late Bunkure, who was among 13 Special Advisers, seven Commissioners, and six Permanent Secretaries inaugurated on Monday, January 5, 2024, died on Wednesday, January 7, while in Egypt.
In a statement issued by Governor Yusuf’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, the governor expressed profound sadness over the loss, describing it as an irreplaceable tragedy for Kano State, the late engineer’s family, and the wider political community.
“This is a heartbreaking moment for us as a government. Engr. Bunkure was a dedicated professional whose expertise and contributions were expected to drive our administration’s vision for development. His loss is deeply felt,” the governor said.
Governor Yusuf offered prayers for Allah’s mercy on the deceased and strength for his family to bear the loss.
Condolences have also poured in from prominent figures, including Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and members of the Kano State Government, reflecting the deep sense of loss felt across the state.
