The Kano State Government has dismissed rumours suggesting an imminent security crisis, insisting the state is safe, stable, and fully under control.ADS 5

The reassurance followed a State Security Council meeting held on Sunday, attended by all security chiefs, during which Governor Abba Yusuf received a detailed briefing on current security operations.

In a statement issued Monday by the Director-General of Media and Publicity, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, the government said there is no credible intelligence indicating any threat to public peace.

“There is no valid or actionable information pointing to any significant security risk in Kano,” the statement noted, describing the circulating warnings as false, sensational, and intended to create fear.

The government condemned the rise of fake security alerts and warned that individuals spreading such misinformation will face legal action.

According to the statement, the state has strengthened its coordination with intelligence agencies, law enforcement bodies, and community networks, with surveillance heightened across all localities. Security personnel have been strategically deployed and are operating round the clock to forestall any threat.

“Every part of Kano is under active surveillance, supported by a robust security architecture,” the statement said.

Residents were urged to remain calm, continue their daily activities, and use social media responsibly. The government added that it is enhancing intelligence gathering, boosting inter-agency cooperation, and deploying advanced security measures to safeguard the state.

“Kano will not succumb to fear or misinformation. The government remains fully committed to protecting lives and property,” it concluded.Headline news
