KANO WILL BENEFIT FROM STRONGER FEDERAL COLLABORATION, ABBA YUSUF TELLS TINUBU

Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf met with President Bola Tinubu on Monday to present his administration’s priorities, focusing on security, infrastructure development, and enhanced collaboration with the federal government.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by Sunisu Bature, the governor’s spokesperson, the closed-door meeting provided an opportunity to brief the President on key challenges and opportunities in Kano, particularly the rising insecurity in several local government areas.

“He informed President Tinubu about the recent tragic killing of a housewife and her children, emphasizing the need for decisive federal intervention to strengthen security operations and protect citizens,” the statement said.

Governor Yusuf also highlighted the role of the Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Corps in supporting security agencies and called for closer cooperation with federal security institutions.

In addition, the governor outlined Kano’s development agenda, with a focus on major infrastructure projects. He expressed appreciation to the President for the federal government’s intervention on Wujuwuju Road, describing it as a vital step toward boosting economic growth and creating jobs.

Bature added that Governor Yusuf requested federal support to accelerate ongoing projects and ensure that Kano maximizes the benefits of federal programs and investments.

President Tinubu, according to the statement, assured the governor of the federal government’s commitment to collaborating with Kano State to address insecurity and promote sustainable development.
