Katsina Police Dismantle 11-Man Robbery Syndicate on Major Highways

The Katsina State Police Command has apprehended an 11-man syndicate of suspected armed robbers targeting motorists on the Sha’iskawa-Charanchi and Katsina-Kankia-Kano roads. The suspects, identified as Dikko Maaru, Dardau Kabir, Muntari Musa, Labaran Amadu, Usman Maaru, Lawal Zubairu, Nasiru Sanusi, Adamu Kabir, Abdullahi Zubairu, Muhammad Usman, and Sale Shehu, aged 21 to 35, were known for blocking roads and robbing travelers.

According to Police Public Relations Officer Abubakar Aliyu, the arrests followed a tip-off on Sunday, leading to the interception of one suspect attempting to sell stolen goods, which facilitated the capture of the others. Recovered items include 80 wristwatches, nine cellphones, and a knife.

Commissioner of Police Bello Shehu praised the operatives and urged the public to continue providing information to combat crime. The suspects will face court charges upon completion of the investigation.
