Kebbi Governor Idris Denies Plan to Join Atiku’s Coalition, Says ‘I’ll Be The Last Man Standing in APC’

Kebbi State governor Dr Nasir Idris has dismissed reports linking him to the former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s coalition.

Reacting to the social media speculation linking him to a coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Idris reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, declaring that he is “made in APC, by APC, and for APC.”

He Idris concluded by reassuring Kebbi citizens of his steadfast dedication to their welfare and the continued growth of the state under the APC banner.described the rumour as the handiwork of mischief makers and attention seekers.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I am not a political prostitute. I will be the last person to leave my formidable and reliable party for any coalition, no matter who the architects are,” the governor stated.

Idris, popularly known as Kauran Gwandu, emphasised his commitment to the people of Kebbi State and the vision of President Bola Tinubu, noting that his focus remains on delivering good governance and consolidating on the successes of the APC.

“If they tell you again that Kaura is likely to leave his APC, tell them I will be the last man standing,” he declared.

The statement, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, stressed that Kebbi State remains a stronghold of the APC and dismissed any notion of disloyalty as a “dance of mad fellows in the marketplace.”

Idris concluded by reassuring Kebbi citizens of his steadfast dedication to their welfare and the continued growth of the state under the APC banner.

Meanwhile, Senator representing Delta North, Ned Nwoko, has asked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State to leave old habits of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, behind as he joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Nwoko gave the charge in a statement following Oborevwori’s defection, advising him to ensure his move to the APC is transformative.

While he applauded the governor for dumping the PDP, Nwoko urged him to leave behind old deals that destroyed the opposition party in Delta State.

“Leave behind the politics of survival and step into the politics of legacy.No one pours new wine into old wineskins. Old habits, old politics, and the old deals that led to the gradual decline of the PDP in Delta must be left behind,” he said.

According to him, the APC has already commenced preparing for constitutional amendments, including the creation of Anioma and New Delta states.

“Let me remind you, this agenda was declared a done deal by the party leadership long before your defection, a testament to the APC’s commitment to correcting historical imbalances and ending regional marginalisation,” he said.

The senator charged Oborevwori to embrace a new sense of purpose, lead the charge for constitutional reforms and demonstrate renewed dedication to fairness, inclusive development, and progressive governance.
