King Charles has expressed deep shock and sorrow following a horrific mass stabbing that occurred on a train in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, on Saturday night.
In a statement released on Sunday, the monarch said:
“My wife and I were truly appalled and shocked to hear of the dreadful knife attack that took place on board a train in Cambridgeshire last night. Our deepest sympathy and thoughts are with all those affected and their loved ones. We are particularly grateful to the emergency services for their swift and courageous response to this awful incident.”

Emergency services were called at around 7:38 p.m., with armed police storming the station just minutes later. Ten people were taken to hospital, four of whom have since been discharged, while two victims remain in life-threatening condition.
According to British Transport Police Superintendent John Loveless, officers responded within eight minutes of the first 999 call.

> “It’s a shocking incident, and my thoughts are with those injured and their families,” Loveless said. “Armed police boarded the London-bound train, which had departed Doncaster at 6:25 p.m., and arrested two suspects at Huntingdon station.”
Two men — a 32-year-old British national and a 35-year-old of Caribbean descent — were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in custody.

Police confirmed that while counterterrorism units initially assisted in the operation, the incident is not being treated as terrorism-related.
Authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the attack as the victims recover in hospital.
