Chief Ayeni made the remarks in Ilorin during the formal declaration of interest by Isaac Adeyemi for the House of Representatives seat representing Irepodun/Ekiti/Isin/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency. He commended Adeyemi for his determination and noted that voters are discerning and will back candidates with proven credibility.

Adeyemi, a chartered accountant and tax practitioner, expressed gratitude for the support he received during the 2019 party primaries, despite being denied the ticket due to political influences at the time. “2019 is gone, and we are now in a new era. Many of those who opposed me in the past have now pledged their support for my ambition,” he said.

The aspirant highlighted his decades-long professional experience, including consultancy on several World Bank-supported and federal government financial projects, saying it equips him to contribute meaningfully to legislative processes, particularly in finance and governance. He emphasized that his expertise would complement the economic policies and development agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Adeyemi also underscored his strong ties to the constituency, noting that his business and personal base in Ilorin make him accessible to the people. Outlining his vision, he pledged to address insecurity, attract federal government institutions, and drive development projects to the constituency if elected.

Recalling his political experience, Adeyemi mentioned his previous role as Deputy Director of Contact and Mobilization for the Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign in the North Central region, a position he held with the support of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. He appealed to party delegates and supporters to back his ambition during the APC primaries, assuring that their votes would make a meaningful impact.
