Kwara Police Arrest Six Over Oke-Ode Killings, Others for Kidnapping and Murder

On October 17, 2025, Kwara State Police Commissioner Adekimi Ojo announced the arrest of six suspects linked to a deadly attack in Oke-Ode, where 15 people, including a village head, were killed. Speaking in Ilorin, Ojo said the arrests followed intensified operations by the police and tactical teams.

Additionally, Sanni Gbadamosi was apprehended in Kano for allegedly orchestrating his cousin’s kidnapping in Ajase-Ipo, demanding N120,000 in ransom, using advanced digital intelligence. In another case, Muhammadu Jalo, a motorcycle mechanic in Bode Sadu, was arrested for allegedly beheading a customer with a machete after an argument. A 15-year-old, Falade Ebenezer, was also detained for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl in an uncompleted building, with the case reported by the suspect’s mother.

Ojo noted that normalcy is returning to Oke-Ode and other areas, with security measures enabling market activities to resume. He attributed rising kidnappings to informants and monetary enticements, urging residents to report incidents despite threats from kidnappers. The commissioner vowed to continue collaborating with other agencies to eliminate criminal elements and restore peace across Kwara.
