Oladimeji Lasisi, a 38-year-old technical department worker at First Bank’s Igomu branch in Costain, Lagos, has been missing since August 20, 2025. His disappearance led to the death of his mother nine days later and has left his stroke-afflicted father, Olawale Lasisi, and wife, Omowunmi, in profound distress.

On the day he vanished, Oladimeji left home but did not return, despite never staying out late without informing his wife. His employer claimed he was last seen on Tuesday, but the family insists he reached work on Wednesday, suspecting a cover-up. A phone trace showed his device was last active at Mile 2, far from his office and home, deepening the mystery.

The family reported the case to Ajuwon Police Station, which demanded N300,000 for “mobilization,” prompting them to escalate to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba. Delays there led Omowunmi to petition Zone 2 Police Command, which summoned bank officials. The bank claimed Oladimeji was a contract staff via HR Index, distancing itself from responsibility. A security source alleged the bank initially withheld CCTV footage and that police found Oladimeji’s belongings, including a bag with his wallet and ID, in his office.

Omowunmi, a mother of two, clings to faith, rejecting fears of her husband’s death. She reported a fraudster demanding N150,000 for his alleged kidnapping, with her father-in-law paying N80,000 to no avail. Despite visits from HR Index and bank colleagues, and Zone 2 receiving CCTV footage, no clear answers have emerged. First Bank and HR Index have not provided official responses to inquiries.
