On October 17, 2025, the Lagos State Police Command apprehended four members of a notorious car-snatching and armed robbery syndicate responsible for violent attacks on vehicle owners across Lagos and neighboring states. According to Public Relations Officer Abimbola Adebisi, the arrests were made by the Command’s Tactical Squads between October 15 and 17, following intelligence-led operations.
The suspects, Taiwo Alabi (42), Ogedengbe Lowis (46), Ighodalo Enato Francis (37), and Osaro Eghe Abiodun (34), were nabbed at their Igando hideout. They confessed to posing as passengers to rob drivers at gunpoint, targeting both commercial and private vehicles. The gang is also linked to armed robberies in Ogun, Oyo, and Edo States.
Recovered items include a pump-action shotgun, a Beretta pistol, 48 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 46 live cartridges, a cutlass, assorted charms, a Toyota Sienna, two Lexus ES350 saloon cars, and a Toyota Corolla. Commissioner of Police Olohundare Jimoh praised the operatives and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing to ensure safety. Efforts continue to capture remaining gang members.
