No fewer than two children have died after another building collapsed on Adeleye street, Ladilak in the Bariga area of Lagos.
The incident it was gathered happened on Sunday evening August 21, 2022, with three adults sustaining injuries.
Confirming the incident in a statement by the permanent secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, revealed that three adult males also sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.
According to Oke-Osanyintolu, “The Agency activated its response to the above incident and upon arrival at the incident scene, discovered that the tank scaffolding of a 2 Storey building collapsed on a bungalow beside it and affected two rooms.
“Unfortunately two children died from the impact. Three adult males sustained injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.“
As at press time emergency responders are at the scene of the incident, which include: LASEMA, alongside Lagos State Fire and LASBCA are responders at the incident scene.
Similarly, a two-storey building has collapsed in the Palm Grove area of Lagos State, authorities said on Wednesday August 20, 2022.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said the structure collapsed to ground zero in the early hours of the day.
It explained that no life was lost to the incident, although one man was injured, adding that the building had been cordoned off.
