LASPA to Begin Enforcement of Indiscriminate Parking From July 28

The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) is set to begin enforcement against indiscriminate parking on roads across the state starting Monday, July 29, 2025.

This was revealed by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, during the monthly fitness walk organised by his office. Agoro disclosed that the initial phase of the enforcement would focus on the State Secretariat in Alausa and the Old Secretariat in Ikeja, before being extended to other parts of Lagos.

Supporting the move, the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office (PSO), Mrs. Olasunkanmi Oyegbola, urged civil servants to model responsible parking behaviour and cooperate with LASPA’s efforts. She encouraged them to spread the message among their colleagues and friends, while warning that no one penalised by LASPA should seek intervention from her office or that of the Head of Service.

During a sensitisation session, the General Manager of LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, emphasised the importance of compliance with parking regulations to achieve a more orderly and efficient Lagos for all road users. She thanked public servants for their continued support and reaffirmed that LASPA is committed to curbing indiscriminate parking throughout the state.

Mrs. Adelabu stated that the enforcement drive is aimed at reducing traffic congestion, improving road safety for both drivers and pedestrians, and boosting commercial efficiency. She added that LASPA remains firm in its mandate to promote a sustainable parking culture and would not tolerate any violations of the state’s parking regulations.
