The late Chief Iwuanyanwu barred his wife from remarrying

The late business magnate has willed significant assets to his widow, Frances, including the iconic ‘Legacy House’ on Port Harcourt Road, Owerri. However, a clear restriction accompanies this gift: Frances is expressly prohibited from selling the property.

She also inherits Magil Furniture, a business formerly managed by Iwuanyanwu’s late first wife, Eudora, along with partial ownership of real estate holdings in Orji, Works Layout, and Naze—all situated in Imo State.

However, the Will contains a crucial clause: if Frances decides to remarry, she will immediately forfeit all these inheritances.

The couple’s son has been allocated the family’s Abuja residence, ensuring his place within the family’s real estate legacy.

Regarding the property in London, Iwuanyanwu directed it be sold, with the proceeds split accordingly: 60% will fund the education of his youngest son, 30% goes to his first son, Jide, and the remaining 10% is designated for Ezinne, the current occupant, to aid her in relocating,

Additionally, Iwuanyanwu instructed that the ‘Glass House’ located near the Owerri flyover be converted into a public trust. An independent board will manage this facility, ensuring it serves charitable and community-oriented purposes.

Other properties located across Abuja, Imo, and various parts of Nigeria have been fairly distributed among his five children, in line with his wishes.
