Layal Jade Tinubu, Co-Founder and Managing Director of the Noella Foundation, has hosted the second edition of the Life After School Summit (LAS2025) in Lagos, an initiative aimed at empowering students and improving graduate employability.

The summit gathered over 500 final-year students from tertiary institutions across Lagos for a day of interactive learning, mentorship, and career development. This year’s edition introduced new sessions on digital literacy and financial education to help participants build essential workplace skills and expand their career perspectives.
In her address, Layal Tinubu highlighted the vision behind the initiative, emphasizing the importance of mindset and skill development. “The Life After School Summit goes beyond CVs and interviews. It’s about equipping young people with the mindset and tools to shape their futures,” she said.
Workshops covered key areas including personal branding, CV writing, financial literacy, and digital workplace skills. Each attendee received a professional headshot to strengthen their personal and online profiles.

The event featured industry leaders such as Bankole Williams, Kunle Afolayan, Mojisola Hunponu-Wusu, Stella Fubara, Abiri Folagbade, Aramide Abe, and Osita Oparaugo, who shared insights on identity, creativity, and building meaningful careers.
Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, urged students to pair competence with values, reaffirming his commitment to ensuring every young Nigerian learns at least two practical skills in the next two years. Charles Odii, DG of SMEDAN, also announced support for student-led businesses through facilitated CAC registration.
To encourage academic excellence, 42 students received laptops and 26 were awarded educational grants.

Following the event, 250 participants will join the Life After School Bootcamp 2025, a four-week employability programme, after which 50 top students will advance to a Creative Workshop for advanced training in storytelling and design thinking.
Closing the summit, Seyi Tinubu, Co-Founder of the Noella Foundation, described the initiative as “a growing national movement,” reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to helping young Nigerians transition from education to meaningful employment and entrepreneurship.
