The Chairman of Funtua Local Government Area, Hon. Abdu Goya, has reportedly visited bandit camps in Katsina State to reinforce a peace truce between Hausa communities and armed Fulani groups.

According to SaharaReporters, the visit sought to build trust, promote dialogue, and secure the release of abducted victims. Goya said the move was part of efforts to strengthen the fragile peace process already underway.

Despite such initiatives, violence persists across Katsina. On Thursday, bandits killed two community leaders—Alhaji Bishir and Alhaji Surajo—and kidnapped several residents in Doguwar Dorawa, Bakori LGA. Witnesses said the attackers, linked to notorious bandit leaders Idi Abasu Aiki and Kwashen Garwa, raided the village at night, looting and abducting people for over an hour.

Similar raids have recently occurred in nearby communities, with more than 40 people abducted and several families displaced.Headline news
