Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, widely known as MC Oluomo, returned to the national secretariat of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Abuja on Tuesday, following a leadership clash that had seen control of the office briefly taken over by a rival faction.
In a video shared online, he was seen inspecting parts of the building reportedly damaged during the attempted takeover.
The development comes after a faction led by Tajudeen Baruwa moved into the secretariat on Monday, insisting their action was based on court rulings they claim support their leadership.

Speaking after occupying the office, Baruwa said the move was peaceful and in line with legal directives. According to him, his group had previously notified the police and submitted court judgments backing their claim, but were dissatisfied with the response from security agencies.
He added that the takeover followed about two years of waiting for enforcement of the court decisions, stressing that they remained committed to peace and open to reconciliation despite reports that one of his supporters was injured during the incident.

Reacting earlier, MC Oluomo dismissed the move as a “forceful takeover,” maintaining that the legal dispute over the union’s leadership is still ongoing in court.
He stated that he was not a party to the judgment cited by the opposing faction and confirmed that the ruling had already been appealed, with a stay of execution in place.
He also urged union members to remain calm and law-abiding as the situation unfolds, assuring that security agencies are handling the matter.
The leadership tussle within the NURTW has continued to generate tension, with both sides standing firm on their claims while legal proceedings remain unresolved.
