Meghan Markle has marked her mother Doria Ragland’s 69th birthday with a touching post on Instagram.
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, shared a cheerful boomerang video of herself planting a kiss on Doria’s cheek, captioning it: “Happy Birthday to my beautiful mom! 💗” The post, which also featured animated pink hearts, showed the pair smiling warmly together.
Doria, who enjoys a close relationship with her daughter and son-in-law Prince Harry, has long been a steady presence in the Sussexes’ lives. Known to share a special bond with her grandchildren Archie and Lilibet, she is said to have practically moved into the couple’s Montecito estate in early 2024 to help them through “tough times.”
A family insider told the Express that the three-hour commute from Doria’s Los Angeles home often left her exhausted, making it easier for her to stay at the Sussexes’ guesthouse. “She now spends more time there than in her own house. Harry adores her too and appreciates having her close by,” the source added.
While Meghan and her mother share an unshakable bond, the Duchess remains estranged from her father, Thomas Markle, as well as her half-siblings Samantha and Thomas Jr.
Despite this, Meghan’s birthday tribute for Doria highlights the enduring warmth and support she continues to find in her mother’s presence — both as a parent and a grandmother.
