MOB LYNCHES TWO SUSPECTS AFTER DEADLY MOSQUE ATTACKS IN KANO, ABUJA.

Two deadly incidents of mob violence were recorded on Monday in Kano State and Abuja following attacks at separate mosques, raising renewed concerns about jungle justice and public safety.

In Kano, an unidentified man was reportedly killed by a mob after he was accused of murdering an Islamic cleric, Mallam Ladan Zubairu, at the Yusuf Garko Mosque in the Maraba Quarters area of the state.

Eyewitnesses said the suspect allegedly attacked the cleric at his residence in the early hours of the morning before attempting to flee the scene. He was, however, chased down by residents who overpowered him. The mob reportedly beat the suspect to death and later set him ablaze. His house was also vandalised and set on fire, leading to the destruction of property.

Following the incident, a large group of youths reportedly moved around the neighbourhood issuing threats against anyone who might attempt a similar act.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kano, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said security.
