NAF Strengthens Strategic Ties with NIPSS Through High-Level Engagement
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reinforced its collaboration with key national institutions following a courtesy visit by Senator Ken Nnamani, Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, 16 December 2025. The visit provided a platform for discussions on national security, strategic leadership, and the importance of policy-driven approaches in tackling Nigeria’s evolving security challenges.
During the meeting, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, CAS, emphasized the Air Force’s commitment to sustained engagement with strategic policy institutions. He highlighted that such collaborations are essential for building a highly professional, motivated, and mission-ready Air Force capable of delivering decisive airpower in coordination with ground and naval forces. “Interactions with institutions like NIPSS enhance strategic thinking, broaden policy perspectives, and strengthen our ability to respond effectively to emerging security threats,” the CAS stated. He further noted that these partnerships help inform critical decision-making and contribute to achieving Nigeria’s national security objectives.
Senator Nnamani praised the NAF for its professionalism and ongoing contributions to national security. He stressed that closer coordination between policy institutions and the Armed Forces is crucial for strategic stability, saying: “NIPSS is committed to fostering constructive engagement with the military to ensure that policies reflect operational realities and long-term strategic planning.”
The CAS assured Nigerians of the Air Force’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property, emphasizing that the NAF will continue to operate with the highest standards of professionalism, in close cooperation with sister services and relevant institutions, to maintain peace, unity, and the territorial integrity of the nation.
