Operatives of the NDLEA’s special operations unit at Lagos’ Murtala Mohammed International Airport have arrested 40-year-old drug lord Yussuf Abayomi Azeez, wanted in the UK, while he was traveling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah. Intelligence had tracked him for months after he set up a clandestine laboratory in Lekki producing synthetic cannabis, “Colorado,” and other drugs. Authorities seized 148.3 kg of illicit substances and laboratory equipment.

Other major seizures and arrests across Nigeria include:
Lagos: 105.5 kg of “Molly” and 500 g of methamphetamine at Sifax bonded terminal.
Niger State: Ibrahim Mohammed intercepted with 87,000 tramadol pills and 72 kg of skunk cannabis.
Taraba State: Over 49,500 tramadol capsules seized in multiple operations.

Kogi State: 7.6 kg of “Loud” cannabis recovered; 175,000 opioid pills seized in Abuja.
Abuja/Kaduna Tollgate: Three suspects caught with 769 kg of skunk en route from Lagos to Kano.
Edo State: 1,459.75 kg of skunk destroyed; 5.6 kg evacuated from plantation.
Bayelsa State: 70-year-old woman arrested with 5 kg of skunk.

The NDLEA continues to intensify operations nationwide, targeting both traffickers and local drug production networks.
