Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have dismantled a social media drug network responsible for distributing illicit substances packaged as imported Christmas cookies and snacks in the Lekki area of Lagos State. A statement issued on Sunday revealed that two individuals suspected to be behind the operation were arrested in Lagos.
According to the statement, the agency uncovered and disrupted a social media platform used to distribute illicit substances disguised as imported festive treats. The two people involved were taken into custody after a raid on their residence in the Lekki area. The syndicate had imported consignments of a strong cannabis strain known as Canadian Loud, along with colourful designer sachets printed with images of cookies and snacks, which were used to package the drug in small quantities.

Based on credible intelligence, operatives on Saturday, twenty second November two thousand and twenty five, raided an apartment on Ojulari Street in the Ikate area of Lekki, where a large quantity of packaging materials and five kilograms of the substance were recovered during the arrest.
In another operation in Lagos, operatives arrested a thirty eight year old individual in the Ladipo area of Mushin while he was receiving one hundred and ten pouches of Canadian Loud weighing fifty five point six kilograms. Three delivery vehicles used in the distribution process were also seized.

At a courier company in the state, officers intercepted one hundred grams of the same substance concealed inside a teddy bear imported from Thailand. In a separate interception, five hundred and forty eight capsules of tramadol hidden in bottles of Vitamin C and Magnesium and destined for the United Kingdom were seized from another logistics firm.
In Oyo State, officers arrested a fifty five year old suspect found in possession of eight thousand ampoules of pentazocine, five hundred and ninety bottles of codeine syrup, one thousand five hundred Co codamol pills, and nine thousand nine hundred tramadol capsules.
