NDLEA Unveils Online Platform for Drug Integrity Tests and Visa Clearance Certificates

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has launched a new online platform designed to streamline its Drug Integrity Test and Visa Clearance Certificate processes. The initiative aims to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and transparency while reinforcing Nigeria’s fight against substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking.

The digital platform, known as the Drug Integrity Test and Visa E-Administration System (DITViCAS), was officially unveiled on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, in Abuja. Speaking at the launch, NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), described the development as a “paradigm shift in our fight against the scourge of substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking — a moment where enforcement meets efficiency, and commitment merges with cutting-edge technology.”

Represented by the Agency’s Secretary, Shadrach Haruna, Marwa emphasized that the NDLEA, in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, continues to adopt a proactive and balanced approach to combating drug-related crimes. This strategy, he noted, focuses on two core areas — Drug Supply Reduction and Drug Demand Reduction.

He further explained that the new system replaces the previous manual process for obtaining the NDLEA Visa Clearance Certificate — a requirement for individuals traveling to or from certain countries. The old process involved extensive paperwork, physical appearances, and lengthy verification periods, often leading to unnecessary delays and human interference.

“With the launch of this Online Visa Clearance Portal, we are eliminating these bottlenecks,” Haruna said. “The platform automates all related processes, ensuring transparency, speed, and effective collaboration with partner agencies.”

The NDLEA also announced that private medical centers can now partner with the Agency as accredited Drug Integrity Test centers, allowing more flexibility and convenience for applicants nationwide.

Following the rollout of DITViCAS, applicants can now complete their Drug Integrity Test and Visa Clearance applications online, select preferred testing centers, and schedule appointments at their convenience — without spending hours waiting at NDLEA offices.
